For those who find carrying around and safeguarding their credit and debit cards a hassle, a hi-tech, easier-to-use alternative is at hand.
Gone are the days of searching for your wallet and the wasted moments finding the right card. Now payments happen with a touch, so put those wallets away let Apple pay.
Apple Pay will change how you make purchases with contactless payment technology with security features built into the devices you have with you every day.
The world’s most valuable company has opened its wallet service Apple Pay to the UK, making it the first country outside the US to get it.
Shoppers require at least one of Apple’s newest devices to get going.
To trigger a payment the shopper brings their phone close to one of the contactless readers already used for tap-and-go sales in the UK, and use the handset’s fingerprint sensor to confirm their identity.
There’s no need to open an app or even wake your display thanks to the innovative Near Field Communication antenna in iPhone 6.
You don’t even have to look at the screen to know your payment information was successfully sent. A subtle vibration and beep let you know.
Alternatively, if you own an Apple Watch, you can make purchases by holding the it up to a reader and double-clicking its side button.
So are you ready to put your wallet away let Apple pay or does this feel a little risky?
Time will tell if you have an Apple watch and lets hope this bite of the Apple isn’t too big!
In this day and age, it has become much easier to find and buy what we need or want, so it only stands to reason that the way we pay will also evolve.
