In one hour one Coca Cola drink does more to your body than you may realised and it’s not just Coke but most soft soda drinks.
I recently came across a great article that explains very well what happens in the body in one hour one coca cola drink and its effects… This applies to pretty much most caffeine soft drinks, not just Coke.
When somebody drinks a can of Coke or any similar sugary caffeine drink, this is what happens…
In The First 10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) You don’t vomit from all sweetness as phosphoric acid cuts the flavour, helping you to keep it down.
20 minutes: Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your liver responds to this by turning any sugar it can get its hands on into fat which there’s loads of at this moment.
40 minutes: Caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises, and as a response your liver dumps more sugar into your blood. The receptors in your brain are now stopping drowsiness.
45 minutes: Your body ups your dopamine, stimulating the pleasure centres of your brain.
This is physically the same way heroin works, by the way.
60 minutes: The acid binds calcium, magnesium and zinc in your lower intestine, providing a further boost. This is caused by high doses of sugar and sweeteners also the excretion of calcium.
60 Minutes: The caffeine now makes you need to wee, which will include the bonded calcium and other minerals that were headed to your bones.
60 minutes: As the rave inside of you dies down you’ll start to have a sugar crash. You’ve also now, literally, urinated away all the water that was in the Coke.
But not before mixing it with nutrients your body could have used for things like building strong bones and teeth.
In one hour one Coca Cola drink does all this inside your body but don’t forget what all that sugar does to your teeth, so wash your mouth out with water if you can’t resist that sugary treat.
